Ansell & Bailey have a joint venture partnership with PageSoutherlandPage, US architects specialising in healthcare and based in Texas: with offices in Dallas, Houston and Austin as well as Washington DC.

We worked as PSP+A&B , architects and healthcare planners to Mowlem Health Solutions on the PFI scheme for Kings Mill Hospital, Mansfield.

The existing hospital was extensively demolished and rebuilt as a new DTC with adult inpatient wards above and a dedicated Womens' and Childrens Centre which formed two facades to the major roads on two sides of the site.

The core hospital services of imaging and theatres were retained and extended and the existing accident and emergency centre extensively remodelled as an Emergency Care and Assessment Centre (ECAC) to respond to the changes in GP provision and the consequent increase  in 'walking wounded'.

An education centre and FM centre including mortuary, pathology and pharmacy completed the major works.
